Advanced Foot Care Nurse

An advanced practice foot care nurse is a registered nurse who has completed specialized education to perform comprehensive foot assessments, manage complex foot and nail conditions, and treat high-risk patients such as those with diabetes or peripheral artery disease. Their responsibilities extend beyond basic nail care to include wound care, debridement of calluses and corns, and patient education on preventative care to avoid complications like amputations. They often work autonomously or collaboratively with other healthcare providers in various settings, including private clinics, hospitals, and long-term care facilities, providing essential specialized care to maintain patient mobility and quality of life.
