Our Registered Nurse will visit your home to deliver specialized foot care, emphasizing a gentle, clinically informed, and client-centred approach. The goal is to ensure your feet remain safe, comfortable, and healthy throughout the care process.
Initial Assessment
The initial assessment is a comprehensive session lasting approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. During this time, the following steps are completed to ensure personalized and thorough care:
- Consent and Intake Forms: Completion of necessary consent and intake forms, unless these have already been filled out online prior to your appointment.
- Medical Review: A review of your current medical conditions, medical history, and any medications you are taking.
- Foot and Lower-Leg Assessment: A detailed assessment of your feet and lower legs. For clients living with diabetes, a specialized diabetes foot assessment is conducted.
- Nail and Skin Care: Careful and thorough treatment of nails and skin to address any concerns and maintain foot health.
- Sterilization: Use of sterilized, medical-grade instruments for all aspects of care to ensure safety and hygiene.
- Education and Self-Care Guidance: Personalized education and guidance are provided to help you maintain healthy feet between visits.
- Referrals: If clinically indicated, referrals are made to allied healthcare providers for additional support or specialized care.
- Basic finger nail trimming is included in care if requested by client.
